19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since that period of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to create a final set.

The opponent defended 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
