From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
